Thai Sour Curry (Gaeng Som) (แกงส้ม)

There’s so much to know about this curry, to lose weight? Oh yeah!

Gaeng som is one of the great grandmothers of Thai watery curries, or you can call it traditional Thai food, and yes, it's national favorite across all regions of Thailand's. It’s the curry that you can make from many leftover vegetables like watermelon skin, broccoli stems, watercress, long green bean, cauliflower, young jackfruit, cabbage or pick out pretty much almost anything eatable from your own backyard, throw them in the hot pot then add  fish, prawns or seafood. It's captures very well the flavors associated with another dishes, and it's better when you have leftover in the refrigerator for the next day!

 

I, and my whole family loved to cook, to eat and to shear gaeng som with our neighbors or friends. My good friends who is native from Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Supanburi and Patum-Thani, and I am a Nakhon-Sawan native myself, we were expressed disgust over the type of anemic, thin-as-water kaeng som, we often found at inferior eateries throughout Bangkok but we think we all know better about gaeng som. I, very

passionate about cooking and eating good food and I just want to share my thought with everyone.
