Spices (เครื่องเทศ) refer to products used to flavor foods that come from the root, stem, seed, fruit or flower of a plant.
Herbs (สมุนไพรไทย) are also products used to flavor foods, but come from the leafy green part of a plant. Herbs like "Cilantro" are grow from the coriander seed, and turn to the plant, cilantro leaves are the must for many Thai dish, stems have a pungent, herbaceous flavor, and are used in many authentic, fresh and healthy Thai curries.
But...What is Gluten?
Gluten is a general name for the proteins found in wheat (wheat berries, durum, emmer, semolina, spelt, farina, farro, graham, KAMUT® khorasan wheat and einkorn), rye, barley and triticale – a cross between wheat and rye. Gluten helps foods maintain their shape, acting as a glue that holds food together. Gluten can be found in many types of foods, even ones that would not be expected.
